A washing line full of hi-vis can only mean one thing - the Albany Primary walking school bus is finally back! It’s been on hold since COVID first arrived in Term 1 last year, so it almost feels like starting right from the beginning. New volunteers, new students...but we’ll no doubt be back in the swing of things in no time. Monday is day 1, and at this stage we are operating Mon/WedThurs afternoons, while still hoping to recruit some more volunteers to fill our Tuesday slot.

A whole year without WSB - all that fun missed out on, but now it seems you are back on the block - great news Andrea! Excellent to hear that it is planned for 3 days a week too. Well done getting the volunteers and students all on board. You have earned 90 points for your T1 WSB plus 10 for sharing the details.

Wow, 3 days a week! Go APS! I note that you are operating WSB in the afternoons: is this when you can get the volunteers & a greater "patronage" of participants? Look forward to hearing how this afternoon goes & crossing fingers for Tuesday being added to the "timetable!"

Thanks support crew for your lovely feedback! Arlene - we did originally run the WSB in the mornings as well, but we found that the number of walkers was always quite low compared to the afternoons. So in the end it was easier to manage and to find volunteers to target the times where there was the most demand. We are still hoping to have Tuesdays back on the roster some time soon!

Good thinking, Andrea. You have to work with what you have & MAKE it work for you. Exactly what you are doing, well done. 3 days a week is a wonderful effort. Who knows, after all that glorious afternoon walking, it may result in some walking TO school too!
