Second Hands Up Survey for Term 1.

Although attendance was down at school on Monday, I was very fortunate to have the help of four year 6 school councillors to administer our follow up Hands Up Survey for Term 1. We have a 44% increase in children using the bus service which is something to celebrate. I was also able to take the opportunity to talk to some of the children about the Park and Walk scheme. I also feel that we are a little step closer to setting up a Your Move student team. Exciting times ahead.

Michelle, keep pursuing the idea of a student Team; it is invaluable in so many ways, especially to the students themselves. You too will have an extra spring in your step after working with them!

What a great result for the end of term 1 to see such a big increase in students taking the bus to school. Setting up a Your Move Student Leadership team is part of a winning formula for many schools who take part in the program. Student leadership teams can drive the focus of your active transport initiatives and inspire change through peer to peer engagement! Some schools promote an application process for students to get involved.
