Our Great Walk to School Day

Following our great Walk to School Day on May 20th, we Hands Up surveyed 142 students and a massive 111 students walked, rode, scootered or skated to school! Our first survey (before the Walk to School Day) showed only 51 students were active going to school. Our recent survey now shows that we have more than DOUBLED the number of active students going to school! We are so pleased and proud of our students. Well done Balcatta students. We also thanked, in our school newsletter, our local Woolworths for supplying the food for our Healthy Breakfast. We also thanked our Parents and Citizens for helping to cook the breakfast. We plan for another Hands Up survey soon. The Year 6 Leaders conduct the surveys. We are having fun being active!

Hi Chris - that is exciting to hear that you have had such a big increase in Active Travel at Balcatta PS. Could you clarify if the second survey was held on NW2SD or on another day afterwards? Either way it is a great result! You have earned 40 points for participating in NWS2SD and 10 points for your reflections here. Looking through our records it doesn't appear that you have uploaded any HUS results. Did you know that each term that you upload survey results you can earn points?
