Year 7 Your Move Transition Lesson

Last week Year 7 students completed an hour lesson on The Green Team and the Your Move program. The lesson plan that was provided to teachers guided them through what The Green Team and the Your Move program are and why they are important in our school and wider community. The lesson had the students using their devices to download the BSC Your Move access guide which shows the most common and safe walking, riding and bus routes to and from school around the Baldivis Community. Teachers then asked their students to find their house and write down what walking, cycling and bus route they would take to school and what number bus they would use. The students were also guided through how to use the Your Move Journey Planner as a way of getting around Baldivis. The feedback I have received about the students being engaged in this activity has been great. We have had a number of Year 7 students wanting to get involved in The Green Team and be a part of running the Your Move program here at BSC.

Such a practical use of those wonderful Access Guides. Every school should have one! Hopefully this activity will translate into a greater AT footprint & students clamouring to be part of the Green Team! Great work Green Team.

Thanks Chloe - you received 30 points for running the year 7 transition activity plus a bonus 10 for the helpful details. Is the lesson plan one you created yourself? Would you be happy to share it?

Hi James, do I just do that by putting another blog on? Sorry, I am new at this.

Hi, Chloe, you're doing a great job! (Jess will be proud!) Re- James' suggestion (& he has oodles of great suggestions) start a new story then go to the "upload a related resource." That should do it for you! By the way hope to see you at our networking on Monday!
