Connecting Schools Grant Colouring Competition

Thanks to Your Move and the bike promotion pack we received, we decided to run a colouring competition to raise awareness about being an active traveller on the way to school. Prizes were from our bike promotion pack and ranged from bike locks to spokey dokeys.

The colouring in competition was a huge hit with over two thirds of our students from Kindy to Year 6 participating. After much excitement and anticipation, the winners were announced at our week 9 assembly. Congratulations to all the students who won a prize, and thank you to everyone who entered. The winning colouring ins have been displayed in the school for all to see.

At the same assembly our last Random Ride Day was announced for Term 2. Students were told the day would happen during week 10, but not which day it would be. With more random prizes to give out and the reward of riding around the school courts after school on offer, we have seen a marked increase in the number of students riding and scootering to school this week.

Well done for grabbing so much attention for active travel at Bassendean Tammy! It is excellent new that combined with your Random Ride Days you have seen a noticeable increase in active travel 😁. You have earned 25 points for running a colouring competition to promote active travel and 10 points for your reflections here.
