Profile

Bob Hawke College on Kitchener Park in Subiaco opened for the start of the 2020 school year as a local intake secondary school. Initially the school will accommodate 250 Year 7 students and grow to accommodate a total of 2000 Year 7 to 12 students by 2025. The new school will contribute to the community of Subiaco - a suburb known for its aesthetic appeal, heritage charm and village atmosphere. Families in the area will benefit as they will have access to a brand new school for their children close to home with world class facilities and equipment to deliver an exciting and innovative education for 21st century learners. Bob Hawke College will also have a Gifted and Talented academic program that will start with the first intake of Year 7 students in 2020. This will enable students from across the State to apply for available places in this challenging program for the best and brightest children. The new Stage 2 build is set to be completed this year, it has a 4-star sustainability rating, a bike repair station (thanks to a Connecting Schools Grant and the BHC P&C) and even more bike racks. Subiaco Oval will be an important part of Bob Hawke College and will also be shared with the community on weekends and after school hours. These historic grounds are sure to be the envy of schools across the country. The school is easy to access with train stations in Subiaco and West Leederville - both within easy walking distance from the school. After the success of the Your Move Champion Committee, in 2023, the school started a Travel Plan Committee. The Travel Plan Committee will address the needs of staff and students traveling to school but aligning with the DoE Caring for Country Together Sustainability Framework and reducing the school's carbon emissions.
