People on Bicycles Reward Visit

On Friday 13th March, Charthouse Primary School was privileged to have a visit from People on Bicycles for forty students who ride to school regularly. This was a reward from our grant we had earned last year.

As we had well over forty students who wanted to have their bikes checked, we ran a raffle of the students who ride their bikes to school more than three times a week to choose our forty students.

The two lovely gentlemen were at school all day checking and fixing the forty bikes. They did repairs such as faulty brakes and chains and tightened up many loose handlebars and seats. They were so professional and hard working, and the children and their families really appreciated their feedback and repairs.

We were really lucky to win another visit from the People on Bicycles Team
as a result of a Ride 2 School Day competition, so we are really looking forward to the students who missed out last time having a turn this time. We can't wait to have them back again in Term 3 or 4.

I would highly recommend the team for a school visit, and I encourage all schools to do activities and write stories to earn lots of points to use on things such as this great activity. If you work hard enough, you can earn one for free like we did. Thanks so much, YOUR MOVE!!

Your Connecting Schools grant certainly seems to have been well used Sue! And excellent news that you can get more bikes fixed up later in the year too. Your followup to unlocking your CS grant has earned you 40 points, plus a bonus 10 for making it such a good read. Last term you mentioned that you were planning to continue your FPFs. Don't forget to give us an update on these for term 1 and 2 - it is worth a minimum of 90 points per term!
