The City of Canning has two fleet e-bikes available for staff to book through Outlook and they have gone on tour to spread the cycling gospel.
The bikes have recently been moved from the Admin centre to one of the City's other offices to give staff based there a chance to use them. E-Bike intro sessions were offered to staff at this office across a few dates to demonstrate how the bikes work and explain how they are booked. Staff who attended these sessions were consulted about journeys they hoped to take and simple maps to these destinations have now been created. These maps are stored with the e-bikes so safe, off road routes can be discovered easily.
After an initial flurry of interest, bookings have tailed off slightly, so we've planned a series of nudges over the next couple of weeks on days when the weather is looking nice.
If we can demonstrate sufficient interest then we hope to provide this office with their own bike. This would be a great outcome for satellite offices which don't usually have the secure parking needed to house a fleet car.

Great idea Sam! I love the simplicity of this low cost pilot. I particularly like the innovative idea of producing custom maps for popular destinations for staff. You have earned 25 points for your e-bike promo, 15 points for the innovation and 10 points for explaining the details of how it works.
