Staff COVID commute changes

As everyone knows and has experienced, travel to work has changed during COVID-19 restrictions. Here at the City of Fremantle, a lot of us worked from home during restrictions. Now most of us are back in the office and back in the field. COVID-19 restrictions has influenced our staff on how they commute. Tom, our Senior Planning Officer has this story to tell.

“Before the COVID-19 restrictions I used to catch the train to work. The train was more convenient due to traffic and paying for parking. When the restrictions eased and I was back in the office I started driving my car. There was less traffic and it was quicker and easier to drive, and there were more parking spaces available. Gradually, the roads and parking became busier as more people were travelling for work and shopping. I decided to go back to the train, and to make things easier and more fun, I bought a scooter. Now I save time and money scooting to the train station and to work.”

Hi Gav, thanks for sharing Tom's AT story. Great to hear that he has not only returned to PT but has taken up scooting too. Let me know if you are using this story to promote AT within the organisation - then I can give you some points for that!!

The more fun you can squeeze into the day the better I say - might be time for me to try a scooter :-)
