Walk Safely to School Day Activities

On Friday 17 May, The City's staff and a number of Councillors joined Warnbro Primary School at their Walk Safely to School Day event, we handed out stickers and prizes to students on the day. The City supported 31 local schools to host a healthy breakfast on the day to encourage schools to take part. The City has received overwhelmingly positive feedback from local schools about their events on the day and we have a number of new schools signed up to Your Move because of it.

Hi Penny, what a fantastic way to encourage schools to get their walk on! You have received 40 activity points for supporting Walk Safely to School Day and 20 bonus points for the advocacy and political support (great work getting the Mayor and Councillors involved). Rockingham is doing such a fantastic job at involving schools in the Your Move schools program.

The City of Rockingham are amazingly supportive of the local schools, making it so much easier for schools to become involved in activities such as Walk Safely to School Day and step into the YM program and be successful. Well done!
