As part of our March Back on your Bike events the City hosted another bike market to support Bike for Humanity (https://b4hwa.com/).

The market is held every six months and at each market the car park is closed to the public allowing sellers to set up stall in parking bays. Sellers bring a range of bike related bits from second hand bikes, classic road bikes, vintage parts, choppers, odds and ends etc. Members of the public register as a seller before the event and pay a $10 fee for each parking bay. These fees are then donated to Bikes for Humanity.

Bike for Humanity bring a range of bikes that have been serviced by their volunteers and are available to purchase on the day. These sales help them fund the other work they do providing bikes to isolated communities in WA and Africa.

The event is advertised alongside our Bike Breakfast on social media, City website, at local bikeshops and on banners. This year we have also been using a variable message board in the car park prior to the event to help advertise.

I love this regular bike swap meet - I must get along to one soon. Great that you could use the VMB to promote. Could you also use it for other active transport promotional messages during the year? Your event has earned you 40 points plus 10 for the letting us know how it all works.
