City of Wanneroo- World Bicycle Day Prize Draw

Sophie Baker
City of Wanneroo

To celebrate World Bicycle Day, the City held a prize draw for schools to apply for free bike education lessons! The City's Active Travel Officer budget was utilised to fund this prize draw.

Nine schools from the City applied and all nine schools have received free bicycle education from the City of Wanneroo delivered by CycleSense. The successful schools are St Francis of Assisi Catholic Primary School, Clarkson Primary School, Quinns Rocks Primary School, Yanchep Rise Primary School, Rawlinson Primary School, East Butler Primary School, Alkimos Primary School, Shorehaven Primary School and Ashdale Primary School

CycleSense will be delivering the bike education at these schools between the 4th and the 6th of June to align with World Bicycle Day and World Environment Day. Some schools opted for a bike skills session and others for a bike safety education discussion and how to maintain their bike. Thanks to Chris from CycleSense who assisted in arranging these sessions and tailoring them to suit school contexts.

The City looks forward to hearing all about these bike education lessons.
