City of Wanneroo staff attended a 'Get Back on Your Bike' Lunch and Learn session thanks to our rewards points which were exchanged in the 'Your Move' rewards store. Another way the City wishes to encourage staff to use active travel to work and for shorter trips by providing lunch and learn sessions.

Thorsten from People on Bicycles came to the Civic Centre and delivered a hands on information session, where staff learnt basic bike repairs and essential maintenance skills. There was no need to bring a bike, Thorsten from People on Bicycles had a bike ready to go. Thorsten made bicycle maintenance look easy!

We had 19 staff attend today's session. Feedback from staff was that they felt like they learnt a great deal about how to keep their bike in good condition.

What a fantastic lunch and learn session, I am looking forward to organise the next one and I hope this inspires more staff members to get on their bike and give riding to work a go.

Great to see so many staff at the session Sophie. Good too that needing to bring a bike in wasn't a barrier. Did the learnings sink in OK without being able to tinker on their own bikes immediately? You have earned 50 points for setting this up and 10 for your reflections.
