National Ride2School Day is Australia’s biggest celebration of active travel, where students across Australia ride, walk and scoot to school. Schools in the City of Wanneroo were encouraged to get active and ride, walk or scoot to school today.

St Francis of Assisi Catholic Primary School in Butler, top of the City of Wanneroo 'Your Move' Schools Leaderboard held a National Ride2School day event. Staff wore tutus and music was playing as students arrived at school where they were greeted at the school gate with prizes. 'Your Move' Student Leaders and Mayor Aitken handed out 'Your Move' walking and cycling stickers as students wheeled, scooted and walked through the gates.

It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces. Well done to St Francis of Assisi Catholic Primary School on their active travel efforts.

Hi Sophie - I'm so glad you and Mayor Aitken were able to join in the fun at St Francis of Assisi 😊. Given all the efforts you have made over the past 2 months working with schools I think it is fair to say that you have done your bit to promote NR2SD 🙂 thus earning the City of Wanneroo 25 points, plus another 10 for sharing the joy of the day in your story today. Have an awesome weekend and we'll "see" you again next week no doubt!
