The City held a RAC Beyond the Roads Workshop at both Clarkson and Wanneroo Libraries for the community.
Beyond the Roads Community workshops from RAC are free one hour presentations that can be booked through the RAC website: Community workshops | Community Education | RAC WA.
RAC presenters were encouraged to arrive by public transport and were provided with the closest bus stops to both libraries as well as bus routes to the closest train station as well as provided with maps.
We had two amazing presenters who were extremely knowledgeable and discussed topics such as mobility beyond driving and mobility for the future as well as road safety facts and tips and road rules.
Numbers were on the low side, however, our libraries staff managed to draw more attendees in through our offer of free tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits.
We hope that those who did attend are more aware of how to stay safe on the roads and are empowered to try alternative modes of travel to the car.

Hi Sophie. I didn't know these presentations exisited. Looking at the RAC site it seems maybe your presentation was the one one titled "Your leisure years"? Active travel doesn't seem to be on the published content of the presentation - did they cover much of the topic?

Hi James, The presentations were called 'Your driving future' which aims to bring experienced drivers up to speed on road rules and road safety as well as considering mobility options beyond driving.
