Wanneroo Staff attend the Vincent 2020 Bike Month Brekkie

City of Wanneroo's Traffic Services' staff got out and commuting early in Bike Month with our new Principal Specialist team lead, Senior Traffic Engineer and our newest Traffic Engineer attending the City of Vincent Bike Month Breakfast at Banks Reserve on the 8th of October on our morning commute.

The usual commute for Wanneroo Staff being north, we took the longer scenic route along with 6 or so other friends, including our friend Maurice from MetroCount, to attend the event with us then returning including an awesome stretch of path along the recently upgraded Mitchell Freeway PSP!

Some existing Wanneroo Staff that cycle even met us for part of the commute into the breakfast too but of course not all could make to the event it for logistical reasons, but it was fantastic to see especially given two of our newest staff (and a few others since) have started commuting to work in a matter of weeks!

Being unable to host an event of our own this year due to timings and COVID-19, Wanneroo wanted to get on board with bike month early by at the very least supporting one of WA's other Local Government run events. But watch this space, plans are in early development for a potential joint 2021 Bike Month breakfast with our neighbouring Council City of Joondalup.

I like the LGA solidarity you are showing by supporting the Vincent event Aaron - particularly as they are not exactly a neighbouring council! You have earned 40 points for organising this staff social ride plus a bonus 10 points for giving us all a good read. BTW - welcome back for 2020! I look forward to reading more this year and in 2021!!
