On Thursday 4th March Coolbinia Primary conducted a Hands-Up survey to collect baseline data for our 2021 Your Move program.

The data was collected in two ways: 1. Physical hands-up class surveys were conducted by the Your Move team in the Early Childhood classes. 2. Digital surveys with QR codes were designed and administered by the Your Move team for Years 2-6.

The baseline results were collated and submitted to the Your Move website today. As 65% of our students came to school in a car on the day of the baseline survey, we have an exciting year ahead promoting active travel to everyone at school.

The three photos of our Term 1 Your Move team show them out by the school gates promoting active travel, as children arrived at school on another Fume Free Friday. Next, we have a major event to be held tomorrow, Friday 12th March, which will be the all-day Your Move Festival. Our Ride 2 School day, with raffle tickets and great prizes, is on Wednesday 24th March.

Another major event this term involved using our Your Move Rewards to pay for bike maintenance and bike education sessions for Years 4-6. This is a great success and the students are enjoying these bike and road safety learning opportunities.

These digital surveys sound very interesting Elaine - I reckon you could do an exposé on how they work and what the benefits are! Great to hear that you have got your Bike Ed (80 points) and maintenance (50 points) up and running in Term 1. I look forward to hearing about R2SD soon. For now you have another 10 points bonus for giving us a great read!
