Coolbinia Primary applied for a Connecting Schools Grant in 2020 to enable bike ed for students Years 4-6. We were successful in obtaining the funding and planned for the program in run in Term 1, 2021.
The bike ed program this year was fantastic. We all know that cycling helps improve gross motor skills by working on coordination, endurance and strength. Furthermore, the students developed the skills they needed to ride safely and independently on roads and paths. We were particularly thrilled with the bike maintenance service offered as many of the students' bikes needed attention.
We hope to continue offering bike ed and bike maintenance to our Year 4 students coming through each year to provide them with these lifelong skills. Many thanks for the Connecting Schools Grant!
