How are our students travelling?

Our school conducted the Start-of-the-Year Your Move survey on Tuesday 8th March. Our statistics on active travel are down compared to the end of 2021, largely due to the impact of Covid. More parents are using our Kiss and Drop facility.

However, this situation hasn't disheartened our Year 4 Your Move team. They have been very active this term organising a 'Colour Your Moves' colouring competition for Kindy-Year 6 classes, a chalk drawing fume Free Friday event and the forthcoming Ride2School Day. Also this term Year 4 & 5 students have participated in bike maintenance and bike education sessions with People on Bikes. These sessions were funded by our Connecting Schools grant, for which we are very grateful.

Next term, there will be another Connecting Schools grant activity. The school has organised a place-making initiative - painting an active travel mural - facilitated by an external artist. We are very excited about this initiative because it will promote Your Move to the whole school community and hopefully contribute to improved active travel statistics.

Hi Elaine - I'm glad to hear that the team are not discouraged by the HUS results but are pushing forward instead! You have earned 25 points for understanding the issues at Coolbinia and making a plan (I can't wait - lots of great activities coming up 😊!), and also 40 points for letting us know how you are using your Connecting Schools grant. You also earned 10 points for giving us an engaging story. I'm looking forward to seeing that mural take shape!
