We have had such a busy month here at East Butler Primary School! We have been actively engaging the community in active travel to school and promoting active travel through our assemblies and newsletters to the students.

Newsletter and Facebook- We have been including many events in our school newsletter and promoting active travel to get to school. We have been active on Facebook in promoting ideas to get to school in active ways and our most recent post was sharing the tremendous major grant win to our parents, who were all very excited and looking forward to the new upgrade.

We promoted Walking Wednesday during our active travel month to the students and encouraged all to walk with caregivers. We have been giving out stickers and our student leaders have been going to classrooms to promote the activities.

We are looking into a new activity to promote active travel for the rest of the year with our 'Your Move' team, such as a Christmas decorated bike event, some competitions and lesson plans for teachers to tie in active travel into some maths topics, such as graphing and mapping, (watch this space for updates!)

Looking forward to ending our year with a bang!

Thanks for sharing all the recent activity Amy. I look forward to hearing how your plans for the rest of the term pan out. Regarding your 'active travel month' is that an expansion of the 'bike month' initiative? You have earned 90 points for your Walking Wednesday regular AT day, 22 for your newsletter promos, 10 for using social media this term and another 10 for all the details. Have a super week 🙂.
