Eden Hill Your Move present at assembly

Kirrily Atkins

This week the Your Move Team gave an update at the whole school assembly. The purpose was to inform the school about the events of the past couple of weeks. Prior to the assembly, the team came together to agree on the content of their presentation and distributed the speaking parts equally amongst themselves.

They spoke about the Constable Care Safety School Excursion. They summarised the excursion and spoke about their favourite part of the day. Most agreed they loved the working boom gates and learning how to use a roundabout correctly.

Then they talked about the Kindy Bike and Road Safety lesson that was held following the excursion. It was a fun session for both the Kindy students AND the Your Move Team.

I am so proud of the Your Move Team, on this day assembly, only two students from the usual team of four were at school, and they didn’t hesitate to present to the whole school on their own! Their confidence is growing, and they are willing to have a go at anything.

These students also helped write a Your Move article for our latest newsletter. In this article we have informed the school community that next term we will be focusing on wearing helmets, because we have noticed that not all students ride to school with a helmet.

At our first meeting for Term 3, we will brainstorm ways to encourage helmet-wearing amongst the Eden Hill students.

Great work team! It sounds like the school community is now really well informed about all the great stuff that the YM team have been up to. They have earned 25 points for their assembly item, 22 for the newsletter and 20 points for all the details you have shared with us.
