A surprising Hands Up Survey

Donna Jarvinen

We completed our start of the year Hands Up survey yesterday and the results surprised us a little. The number of children riding their bike or scooter has decreased by a third since the beginning of last year! When the team reflected on this, we remembered that we had had a few bike and scooter thefts from our locked storage area last year and this may have contributed to the decrease in numbers. Thankfully we will be promoting an engraving session provided by the City of Gosnells during Bike Week and we are hoping the numbers will once again increase!

Hi Donna - it's a pity to hear about the bike thefts at school. But I'll glad to hear that you have already started looking at tackling the problem. You will automatically get 50 points when you enter your survey results in the online tool, but for now you received 10 bonus points for a nicely written story and 5 points for your team's reflection on the reasons behind the survey results.
