2022 National Ride to School Day

Harrisdale Primary School (HPS) held their National Ride to School Day event on Wednesday, March 30, 2022. This was a fantastic event which saw students decorating their bike helmets and actively making their way to school. There were a range of spot prizes given out on the day, raffle tickets and one student from the senior and junior years even received a prize for best dressed helmets. HPS saw some absolutely amazing helmets coming into the school gates, from COVID-19 inspired decorations to streamers and unicorn horns!

Harrisdale Primary School was lucky enough to receive a large grant from Your Move which went towards bike riding equipment from a local 99 Bikes store. This equipment was used for the prizes throughout the morning. Along with this, the junior and senior helmet competition winners received a $50 voucher each for the same 99 Bikes store.

This year our Health & Wellbeing team took on the organisation of the Ride to School Day event. They did an absolutely fabulous job and it was lovely to see students actively making their way to school with their friends and family members!

Welcome back to Your Move 2022, Abbi and all at Harrisdale 😊. NR2SD is a great opportunity to kick off your activities for the year & it sounds like it went really well! You have earned 40 points for your event, 20 points for including a dress up element and 10 points for giving us an engaging story. Are the Health and Wellbeing team staff, parents or a mix of both? If they are likely to make a regular contribution to your YM activities you could post a story on the Volunteer Power activity😉.
