A Bus Service to the B Hive

Harrisdale Primary School is split across two sites, with a Kindy and Pre-Primary ‘B Hive’ campus just 5 minutes down the road from the main site campus. Due to the two sites, a large range of parents are required to drop students at across both the main site and the B Hive. To provide parents with the opportunity to have their say regarding this, the school Parents and Citizens Association held a Feedback Session where parents were able to provide suggestions to assist them in dropping off and picking up students from both sites.

One of the most voted suggestions was a bus service which would transport students from the main site to the B Hive each morning and from the B Hive to the main site each afternoon. It has been proposed that this initiative will be implemented and monetised by Harrisdale Primary School for 2021. The bus service will not only assist parents who are doing multiple drop offs, but it will also minimise traffic congestion around the area. Along with the above, a bus service, where a large selection of students will travel together to each campus, instead of individual cars will eliminate vehicle emissions.

Great initiative Abbi - not only are there all the environment and congestion benefits you mention, but it also will habituate students (and parents!) to the idea of using public transport (even if for a few years down the track). Running the feedback session has earned you 25 points and you received a bonus 10 for giving a great explanation of the proposal. Make sure you give us an update when the service launches!
