Kiss and Drop zone in parent car park (1)

Honeywood Primary School opened two years ago with approximately 90 kindy and pre-primary students, so the school had ample parking for all families.

As our school has grown considerably over the few years parking is becoming more of an issue.

To enable the safety of all students being dropped off, walking and riding to school the Principal investigated the idea of a "Kiss and Drop" zone in the car park.

She first approached a local councillor from the City of Kwinana who investigated the initiative further.

Verbal approval has been given but the final approval will come from a Shire meeting on the 11th November.

When the final approval is completed the City of Kwinana will provide a designated "Kiss and Drop" zone at the school.

Hi Danielle - good to hear that City of Kwinana is looking at this for you - make sure you let us know how it goes. Also let us know if they make any footpath or cycle route improvements at the same time, as that is a Your Move activity that is worth 30 points.
