School Newsletter -Maggie Dent Visit to Honeywood

Honeywood Primary School prides itself on our "No Homework" policy.

We believe that children spend enough time at school learning, so when they go home at the end of the day their time should be spent attending sporting clubs, increasing family time together to visit parks etc and to generally be active in the community.

The School Board approved the "No Homework Policy" and the majority of parents support the schools philosophy of encouraging students to be active rather than spending family time completing homework.

Maggie Dent heard about our No Homework policy and firstly interviewed our Principal on our homework policy. This interview was converted to a podcast and was available for parents to listen to view ABC.

After the interview Maggie Dent has asked to visit our school with Today Tonight to prepare a story on the benefits of No Homework. She would also like to see our "Wheels on Wednesday" in action.

Today tonight will present a segment on the findings.

This is really interesting Danielle - I just looked at her website and I want to read more! I'm glad you made the link to Active Travel and that she is attending your next WoW. You received 22 points for your newsletter promo of Active Travel. I look forward to hearing how it goes next Wednesday.
