Therapy Dog

Danielle Howton
Honeywood Primary School

Taxi is Honeywood Primary School's therapy dog.

Taxi comes to school 3 days a week with her owner and is on a lead at all times.

Taxi helps students overcome anxiety and enhances confidence in students and relationships with peers and teachers.

Many students are anxious in the playground but having Taxi around helps improves confidence for students to interract with their peers and join in on activities in the playground.

Taxi also helps with social development which again often provides confidence for students to ask to join in with activities. This increases active participation in the playground and limits students sitting alone in areas.

I hope she comes to school on paw or bicycle! Let us know if she is promoting Your Move and we can give you some YM points :-)
