Infographic Poster Competition

Donna Buckley

Our year eight competition to promote the Your Move message to the college inspired the students to get analytically creative with the results of the Term 4 survey. Students were also able to use what they had been learning in maths class about air pollution in their informative digital poster. Using both data and visual images an infographic is a powerful way to communicate the Your Move message.

The posters created inform students about how their individual actions in getting to school can have an effect on the air quality around the school community and help reduce our carbon footprint. These wonderful digital images can now be used as a part of the promotion of the Your Move program in the newsletter, social media and for posters around the college.

Upgrading the primary school colouring competition to fit our secondary school profile was a hit! Thanks Your Move rewards for helping us provide all our student entries with great prizes. The top three entries are shown below - I hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

James (Your Move)

Very, very impressive, Donna and the crew at John Curtin! I'd love to know which tools the year 8's used. This certainly shows that you have adapted the "colouring in comp" resources very well! Any chance of sharing a lesson plan (james@yourmove.org.au)? You definitely earned the 25 points for this activity, plus a bonus 10 for a stimulating read!
