Your Move Leadership Lab - Day 2

How good was day 2!!!! The students had an opportunity to network with the Deputy Mayor and representatives from the Department of Transport and RAC. The students got to pitch their idea to the guests and receive some feedback and tips on going forward. Our students have a big Your Move Term ahead of them after this well deserved break.

The project that our students pitched was to reward those riding the bus to school. They would like to form a relationship with Transperth to be able to assign points for every time a student tags onto a bus with their school SmartRider. We would then have a raffle twice a term with those that have collect 40 points going into the draw to win a canteen voucher or money for their SmartRider. We spoke to David about potentially getting these prizes put onto the Your Move rewards shop.

We also talked to Michelle from the Department of Transport about some infrastructure issues with one of our bus stops and it causing some unsafe road use issues. She gave us some good ideas on how we can work to change/fix this. We have a plan going forward and we will wait to see if it pans out.

We also had some time to plan for our 2071 and what we would like to see in schools and the community. The students were looking at how we can make what we already have more sustainable. Which they presented to the group.

It was such a great experience with so many things learnt and to think about. Thank You YourMove and Millennium Kids.

What a productive second day! I'd love to hear how these ideas progress and also please let us know if the students present their ideas back at the school or elsewhere. You have earned 20 points for doing such a great job of capturing day 2 of the Leadership Labs. Have a great break and see you in Term 4!
