Friday was the last day of our ‘Enjoy Djeran’ raffle competition and today we drew the raffle winners!
The Transport Troopers collected hundreds of tickets, and over the PA system today they announced the 10 raffle winners who had to come to the office to receive their prizes.
Nine students received a Your Move umbrella each, to keep them safe and dry in Mukuru season (the wettest season in Perth) - and one lucky winner was able to choose a beautiful Indigenous umbrella from the Kullilla Art website.
The Enjoy Djeran campaign was designed to acknowledge Noongar seasons, AND get people walking and riding to school in Djeran/Autumn season which is typically a time when people pick up the habit of relying on cars again.
We are hoping that raising awareness about umbrellas will assist people in making healthy choices about coming to school via active travel, even when the weather is cooler.
The Transport Troopers did an awesome job all throughout this campaign and all students at LGPS are now very much aware of how enjoyable it is to get out and about during Djeran season!
The competition winners were posted on social media too. 😊
