Erindale Road Underpass

This term, our Year 6 students have been working with the Department of Transport, Main Roads and Your Move to help paint the new Erindale Road Underpass. Artists Sioux Tempestt and Seantelle Walsh visited our school last week to tell the Year 6's about the design and to complete an art workshop. The design includes local flora and fauna as well as Aboriginal symbols to pay respect to the original owners of the land, the Wadjak Nyoongar people. Twenty Year 6 students were chosen to help Sioux and Seantelle paint the underpass mural, and on Monday, they travelled there with Mrs Anderson and Mrs Piercey. We all had lots of fun painting the mural, and we can't wait to ride our bikes through it when it's finished.

What a stunning collaboration Lynne 🙂. Great to see the year 6s getting their brushes wet - make sure you give us an update when the project is complete. Lake Gwelup and the year 6s have earned 25 points for getting involved in this infrastructure improvement and you have earned another 10 points for all the details.
