On Friday, we celebrated the end of Bike Month with GROOVY BIKE DAY, the brainchild of our Transport Troopers! They were trying to raise awareness for the fact that in the 1970’s, over 70% of students arrived at school via active travel.
On Groovy Bike Day, we all dressed like we were from the past and our bike racks were overflowing!
At the end of the day, we had a Slow Bike Race on the oval and special prizes were awarded to the winners - thanks to the Rebel Sport vouchers we have picked up from Your Move!
Overall, it was an awesome day!!
Our next big event will be our Christmassy Dress Up Your Bike Day! Watch this space!

I bet the parents and teachers had as much fun as the kids helping to prepare the outfits and even the flyer (THAT mullet in the bottom right 😲!). I love the link between the past and active travel practices - but clearly that is all changing now at Lake Gwelup! You have earned 40 points for your bike month event, 30 points for the added slow bike race and 10 points for a great story 😊.
