Lathlain Primary's first Move to School Safely Event

Lathlain Primary School held our first Move to School Safely event on a frosty 6-degree winter morning on 2 July 2020.

Accompanied by mums, dads, brothers, sisters, four and two legged buddies and smaller people in prams, 221 students stepped over the finish line.

Some walked a few blocks counting every step on paper, while others stepped closer to 3000 paces, and some used their parents' phones to track their steps on route to the Senior School Oval.

Sporting a few extra layers to keep warm, every student who participated received a house point, a great incentive to make the distance, along with the personal goals of stepping it out for the team!

Lathlain Primary P&C handed out fresh mandarins at the finish line, which were a sweet treat for the remaining steps to class.

It was an amazing effort by everyone, in particular as those warms bed would have been hard to leave on the very chilly morning.
