National Ride2School Day

Nice work without a doubt!!

Mount Hawthorn Primary conducted our Hands Up Travel Survey before National Ride2School Day and then again on the day. The comparison of results was outstanding. The number of students riding, scooting and skating quadrupled and the number of students walking doubled. With these figures we can now set some goals for the year.

The next step is to improved bike and scooter rack availability and install a bike pump station for students use. The Year 4 marshals are planning a new approach to rewarding students who move to school in active ways.

Going for Gold Status 2020!!

James (Your Move)

You must be very motivated by that result Cherrie - a quadrupling of cycling & doubling of walking is certainly a dramatic change. Your R2SD event has earned you 40 points, plus a bonus of 10 for looking at the impact on the choice of travel mode. Great to hear you are planning to upgrade your bike parking and 'end of trip' facilities - make sure you let us know if you have got a Your Move plan in place for the year, and also if/when you have a student team. Keep up the great start to the year!
