MLPS National Ride 2 School Day 2023

At MLPS last Friday, it was great to see the growing support for NR2SD, with an estimated 80% of students participating in a form of active transport to get to school. Bicycles and scooters were the two most popular transport options, which was fitting for the day!

The day was a great success, with a special "thank you" going to the Sustainability Captains for their assistance and the other excited students who helped out. Their assistance was needed as the waves of students arrived on their bikes and scooters, eager to receive their stickers and raffle ticket for the Your Move prizes.

Thank you also to Mrs Nicola Brodie, our wonderful library teacher for her assistance and helping the Sustainability Captains.

The bike racks were over flowing, with the above and below photos showing just how many students participated on the day, as every spare space was used to store bikes for the day!

Congratulations to the winners of the prizes we sourced from Your Move. The prizes included a book, umbrellas and bike bells. It is important to note that it is from the great support of the MLPS community in participating in the TMG events, that gets recognised by Your Move and rewarded.

Thanks again to our wonderful MLPS community for making NR2SD 2023 such a wonderful event!

Hi again Alan. Clearly the concerted efforts of everyone paid off last Friday. 80% is an enviable participation rate 😊. MLPS has earned 40 points for the event day and you have earned another 20 points for sharing an excellent story.
