Since registering in the Your Move program there has been an increase in MLPS children riding, scooting and walking to and from school. As a result, MLPS's Traffic Management Group (TMG) thought it imperative to reinforce the road safety message through National Road Safety Week!
Here's a message from MLPS Principal Cavelle Monck:
‘Through a grant, the TMG had signage made and displayed around the school reminding our community of being safe on the roads.
On Tuesday, the newly appointed Road Safety Commissioner for WA, Mr Adrian Warner visited our school on “Thank a Traffic Warden” Day and, along with our Sustainability Captains, presented certificates to the school traffic wardens in appreciation for their great work.
On Friday the TMG hosted a morning tea for all the outside agencies they have worked with this year who have supported their work in actioning the Traffic Management Plan. We thank the City of Stirling, the Department of Transport, the Road Safety Commission, and the Department of Education for their ongoing support. Remember, staying safe on our roads is important every day - please drive safely and be courteous and kind on our roads.

NB: the Traffic Management Plan is a document that outlines key traffic issues requiring management, aims to encourage use of alternative transportation and promotes safe driving.
