Thanks to the school community’s engagement and support of our Your Move Alternative Transport initiatives Mount Lawley Primary School (MLPS) were able to obtain a $7,500 Connecting Schools Grant which allowed us to upgrade and add capacity to our bicycle storage facilities. The new bike racks with shelter look amazing!

Thanks to volunteer power, to make way for the new, the old U shaped racks were removed, and consistent with the school’s sustainability practices will be repurposed and moved to the other side of the school to significantly increase bicycle storage in that area.

The upgraded racks were installed during the school holidays to minimize disruption and ensure safe site access They are of a design that prevents damage to bikes, are better suited to smaller bikes that primary school students have, and increase the capacity of the area The addition of a new shelter will provide protection to students and bikes and we can add more shelter in future years.

The MLPS’s P&C and teachers wish to thank the wonderful volunteers who have worked tirelessly to make this happen!

Hi Neil - it is so good to see that new bike parking in place. You have earned 40 points for letting us know how you redeemed your CS grant and I have also give you 10 points for putting together a great story for us. It seems like your army of volunteers really made a difference and that has also earned you another 65 points.
