Lockyer students take the lead

Andrea Smithson

It's all about the new at Mount Lockyer Primary this year - new school, new student team, and a new teacher getting involved in Your Move! So great to have Jemma Sayers on board, particularly supporting the Year 6 student leaders who are taking on the Your Move leadership role. The students had a great introduction to the world of active transport when they participated in the Your Move Leadership Lab at the end of Term 2. After taking part in the initial session, the team came up with a great idea that combined active transport with social wellbeing to pitch to the panel. While they didn't take out the main prize on the day, it was a great experience to be involved in. Great work team!

Hi team! Great to see you deep in planning action here, and I'm glad to hear that you all enjoyed participating in the two days of Leadership Labs. I'd be interested to know more about this idea of combining AT with social wellbeing 😉! You have earned 70 points for participating in this 2 day PD opportunity and 60 points for coming together as the new team. Andrea, you have also earned 10 points for sharing the details here. Enjoy the rest of your week 😊.
