All Racked Up!

Magic certainly does happen over the holidays!

Due to a grant in 2021 and with the help of Ms Harrison our principal, co-ordinating the works, we were able to begin on demolishing and rebuilding our original bike rack over the school holidays.

The Your Move teaches were constantly driving past to see if the gates were open and workmen onsite then dashing in to photograph the various stages of work.

The removal of the old fencing and barbed wire was a triumph in itself! The path was then replaced and new concrete laid. A few weeks of quiet were required while the concrete cured showed us just how many gumnuts we have in our trees! Prompting us to start planning for a roof!

Seeing our old toaster racks removed and replaced by shining new bike and scooter racks made our hearts sing , not to mention a good sweep of all of those gumnuts!

Finally we were ready to go! New bikes and scooters that Santa brought have appeared in our racks and everyone is enjoying using the space. The weather has been terrific and we have had a consistent number of bikes and scooters parked each day.

What an amazing improvement, Tracie! The new racks look great. 🚴‍♂️You have earned 40 points for sharing how you upgraded your school's bike parking with your 2021 Connecting Schools grant and 10 points for your great story. All the hard work from last year has most certainly paid off - well done! 😃
