Double Dilemma turned Platinum Perfection..

Like so many schools on the 26th of August, in term 3, the Your Move Teacher Champions were at school bright and early ready to unlock the Connecting Schools Grant.

Sitting at the computer, fingers at the ready, nerves frayed, tempers rising....3,2,1...GO! We did it!

Even though there were two schools who were faster than us to grab the double platinum grants, we were lucky enough to secure one of the platinum grants of $7499! It was an amazing experience and although, it wasn't the full $15 000 the team at Noranda were elated to say the least.

However, it seems there were other forces at work in the Your Move Headquarters with Carol- Ann and David working hard writing recommendations to the Minister for Transport over the holiday period.

Upon returning to school on Monday in term 4, whispers began during our professional learning session. The Your Move Teacher Champions were furtively sneaking glances at their phones while trying to stay on task, heads were turning and eyebrows were raised. Our administration team was onto us and we were caught out. Fortunately, no detention was given

During the professional learning session, we received an email informing us we had secured a $15 000 grant from the Connecting Schools Grant Package thanks to Carol-Ann and David's hard work.

However, we knew from our kick-off meeting that our plans for upgrading the bike rack did not quite fall within the parameters of the grant regulations but again, due to Carol-Ann and David's lobbying our plans were approved!

We are happy to announce that, due to the hard-working team at Your Move HQ, our ideas have been approved! This means the bike shelter will be fully concreted, new fencing and pathways put up, new bike and scooter parking delivered and hopefully banners displaying student artwork will soon adorn the fence.

What a great team effort from all of those concerned and this shows why we at Noranda are so proud to be associated with the Your Move Program.
