Wheelie Fun Friday is the BEST!

After a week of of promoting Wheelie Fun Friday, and much to our delight, the rain stayed away. We had an influx of active travellers and one of our leaders counted 40 students at the registration table.

While welcoming the students to school, we collected statistics and were surprised to find that nearly all the classes had students cycling or scooting to school and there was not enough parking spaces. Some bikes had to be parked against the fence. From our tally, it is encouraging to see our junior primary classes taking the lead. We have also noticed an increase in students walking to school.

Lucas in Year 3 said, " Wheelie Fun Friday is healthy, I love the prizes and it keeps me fit." Tracie in Year 4 said, " I thought the prizes were amazing and it has a big impact on improving fitness." Valentina said, " I really enjoyed getting fresh air, it's great because it encourages others to be active and I think the Your Move leaders are great leaders."

It must be very encouraging to see riding on the increase at Noranda, Zarina 😊. It seems like some more bike parking might be on the agenda soon 😉.
