Wheely Grandparent Day

Tracie Doherty
Noranda Primary School

Friday 22nd of October was an unusually busy day at Noranda Primary School. We celebrated Grandparent Day with a special assembly and picnic and in doing so asked grandparents to ride or walk to school too!

We had an amazing turn out of 56 students walking, riding, or scooting to school. One of our biggest turn outs to date. According to our tally that we collected on the day, our senior students in Room 6 hold the lead while our Pre-Prmary students are a close second.

Grandparents were in abundance. Lots of them choosing to park a short distance away and walking into the school grounds with chairs and picnic baskets.

Our new prizes arrived just in time and the new sweat towels were a terrific new addition along with the ever popular drink bottles and snap wrist bands.

It was a fabulous morning enjoyed by all.

I love this idea Tracey! Great to hear that the Grandies were out in force - did any make it in on their deadly-treadlies?
