Last Friday, Anna & Noel from ‘People on Bicycles’ came to our school for the first Year 3 Bike Ed sessions. This bike ed program is thanks to the Term 2 Superboost. Below are a few student reflections on their first bike ed lesson:
Bike Ed - Alyssa (3M)
We met the instructors who were going to teach us to ride bikes. First we talked about safety on our bikes. We learned how to put helmets on safely and to have the right clothing such as riding pants or shorts and a jacket if it is windy. After the talk we rode our bikes around the tennis courts. We practised braking and turning slowly so that we wouldn’t fall down. We also got to have five minutes of free riding. My favourite part was the free riding and I am looking forward to the rest of the lessons.
First lesson of Bike Ed - Gianna & Lucy (3P)
‘People on Bicycles’ visited on Friday to teach us bike safety. We learnt how to put on our helmets properly and made sure that our bikes were the right height for us. First we learnt how to scoot on our bikes then when we were confident we started pedalling. After that we did a race up and down the tennis courts. We really enjoyed our bike lessons :).

Look at those funky helmets :) Thank you Alyssa, Gianna and Lucy for sharing your story. I've added 5 extra points for your input, it sounds like you had fun! Thanks for the extra details on how you used your Super Boost package - that has earned you 10 more points and extra points for the colourful photos. Well done!
