Newsletter Item Term 4

Osborne Primary School

Osborne Primary School included an insert in the last school newsletter to let parents know we are apart of the Your Move program, and keep them up to date on all the activities running with active travel.

OPS has joined the Your Move program and are trying to get all children to come to school actively. We have increased the signage around the school, have regular prize draws, keep a running record of each class' percentage of weekly active travel as well as counting our bikes and scooters each Friday. This week was the record with 50 bikes, 21 scooters and 2 skateboards. We are doing this to encourage students, parents and caregivers to walk, ride or scooter to and from school. It will also help us reduce traffic congestion around our school, with the added benefits of keeping fit and healthy.

The chart shows the class percentage of Active Travel in Term 4.

Wow - those are some pretty impressive percentages for your FfF Fridays Ruth! I have linked your story to the related "newsletter" activity, and that gives you 22 points, plus a bonus 10 for sharing the text of your insert.
