National Walk Safely to School day at Phoenix Primary!

On Friday 10th May we celebrated National Walk Safely to School day at Phoenix Primary School. We counted 72 students coming through the main gates of our school, 7 through the Pre-Primary gate, 7 through the back gate and 20 through the senior gate. This is a fantastic result for a small school!

The Travel Smart team were given permission to come to school at 8.15am to open the gates and hand out stickers, tattoos and bookmarks. We felt very special! The students who volunteered their time were Eva, Archie, Evie, Sakura, Taylor, Eliza, Sienna and Zhara. Max and Aksel also had their clipboards and i-pads ready to record the day for us.

Mrs Pretty, our school principal, told us that she, "Loved Walk Safely to school day because she was able to greet lots of families at the gates". She also talked to us about the positives of walking or riding to school. We will now pick two students who walked to school, to receive some prizes at the next assembly.
