Hi! We are Rostrata Primary School and have just joined YOUR MOVE. We are located in Willetton in the Southern Suburbs of Perth and currently have approximately 980 students. With two new housing estates within our school boundary we are constantly increasing in numbers and are expecting a large growth impact over the next 12 months.
Our aim is to encourage as many students and parents to walk and ride to school where possible to not only alleviate the traffic congestion around the school, but to also encourage health and wellness through physical activity and fitness.
In our 2020 School Newsletters Issues 13, 14 & 15 we promoted the Walk Safely to School Day on Friday 11 September. Over 500 students took the opportunity to get out in the fresh air and walk/ride/scooter to and from school which was great to see, this is over 50% of our student cohort!!!
A large proportion of our students already ride or walk to school as our school is quite central to the boundary, but we hope to increase this amount in 2021. Stay tuned to find out what Rostrata have up our sleeves for the future!
