We had a special visitor at St Augustine's on the 18th of September! Constable Care visited our school and talked to the Yr 3 and 4 students about “Getting to School Safely”.

Constable care talked about the 3 common ways we get to school and tips on how to keep safe while doing so.

As summarised by Elliott from Year 3:

  • Walking - stop, look, listen, think, check driveways
  • Riding - stop, look, listen, think, check driveways, always wear a helmet, wear shoes
  • Driving by car - check behind you when reversing your car

It was an engaging presentation and from all accounts it consolidated the understanding of the safety aspects of getting to school, particularly around using active travel as a means of safe transport.

Thanks for coming Constable Care!
