Lower Primary Little Legends

Last year the St Augustine Your Move parent survey responses indicated that the parents highly valued more incursions/excursions about safe travel. Today our Kindy, Pre-Primary, Year 1 and Year 2 classes were treated to an incursion in our school hall by RAC Little Legends club all about road safety. This was the first time that this program was run at St Augustine’s and the feedback from staff and students was fantastic.

Mrs McClure said ‘The children really responded well to the investigation activity! Well done everyone!’

From Susannah in Yr 2:

‘We learned about crashes on a map on the floor. Ash and Chip were racing skateboards and bikes and Chip had a crash. We became detectives to discover who’s fault it was. We went onto the floor and got little mini maps and then we used those mini maps to discover stuff about the crash. We worked it out and popped our hand up when she called out the names of the people and asked ‘who was resposible for the crash?’ And it was EVERYBODY!’

At the end of the session the students were provided with a certificate and fluro bag tag.

We are looking forward to next Tuesday when our Upper School will have RAC Little Legends visit them!

Thanks for the insider account of this incursion Lindi. I wasn't aware of all the details of the activities and goodies - so you have earned 10 points for that (and another 5 for Susannah's perspective), on top of the 25 points for the incursion itself.
