It's been a while since our last meeting, so today at recess the Your Move Student Team had a quick meeting to get us all back on board. We also welcome a new member, Harper, who is keen to help 'spread active travel fever'.
I planned to briefly touch on each topic:
- events
- innovations
- infrastructure
Our scribe got to work putting up the agenda on the whiteboard.

We have 2 events left this year. Park(ing) Day in Week 9 of Term 3 and we are hoping (🤞) to run the treasure hunt event at Kuljak Island for Bike Month in Term 4 - we are awaiting the response to our grant application. We discussed what each event is about and everyone agreed to have a think about how they can help make them successful.
We also selected an innovation to try and implement before the end of year. The ideas list came from the student team application forms and today the team voted for their favourite one. Each student had 2 votes, so they could vote for their own idea and for another innovation. When the votes were tallied, the clear winner was 'lunch time bike days' which was inspired by Albany PS. Next steps will be for the team to form a proposal to take to the staff.
We didn't have a lot of time remaining to discuss 'infrastructure' - a subject mainly focused on our new BIKE SHELTER which is due to be installed NEXT WEEK! So we will have to pick that topic up again another time.
As the bell was going to return to class, we quickly discussed options for when we could hold our next meeting. Luckily we have our Teams Channel which will help us to continue that discussion online.

Thanks for the inside story on your team meeting Lindi. Great to hear that you have been inspired by Albany PS to try a lunchtime ride session. I'm excited to hear that the Kuljak Island treasure hunt might be on again for 2023 😀. The team have earned 10 points for their meeting and there's another 20 points for sharing so much info in your story.
