St Augustines School were incredibly lucky to receive a grant for Bike Education Sessions through the Term 2 SuperBoost. The Year 5 and 6 classes at St Augustines were selected as the lucky recipients.

During the sessions students played games to improve their bike handling such as slow races and riding in a circle as the circle gets smaller without falling off. Julius said ‘I really enjoyed riding down to J Lee Reserve on the last day and learned how to do a wheelie’. I heard that at least 5 students who didn't own bikes beforehand have been overheard excitedly chatting about asking their parents for bikes.
The Superboost funding has further inspired active travel in our school. With the skills and confidence that comes with the sessions, our upper school students are well equipped to ride to school confidently and have plenty of time to practice before making the journey to high school.

Thanks for the update on your Super Boost funded Bike ed, Lindi 😊. As you were awarded the 40 points for this back in May, we can't do that again, but we can give you 10 points for letting us know how it all went and another 10 for sharing the news with the school community on social media. I never would have guessed when I was in grade 6, that one day wheelies would be taught at school 😁!
